Vern Lal – Founder
The inspiration behind our Foundation’s name, Vern was a visionary leader with over 30 years of experience in the corporate world, holding senior management roles across multinational companies globally. Vern was deeply passionate about education, which led him, alongside Shashi, to co-found Springfield Montessori School in 1991. Although Vern passed away in 2018, his legacy of leadership and commitment to education continues to guide our mission.

Shashi Lal – President & Co-Founder
Shashi began her career as a Montessori teacher and, together with Vern, founded Springfield Montessori School. Her dedication to education has transformed countless young lives, and she remains a tireless advocate for providing impactful educational opportunities. As President and Co-Founder of the Foundation, Shashi ensures that Vern’s vision lives on through our ongoing initiatives.

Rajan Lal – CFO & Executive Director
Rajan, son of Vern and Shashi, has a professional background in tech sales, real estate brokerage and project management, as well as a deep knowledge of investment portfolio management. His diverse experience has equipped him with the expertise to manage resources and finances effectively, ensuring successful project completion. As CFO and Executive Director, Rajan oversees the Foundation’s financial health and is deeply involved in facilitating and managing its projects and initiatives.

Kylee Koch – Director
Kylee brings many years of experience as a Montessori teacher in early childhood education. Her passion for children’s education and understanding of quality school environments informs her of what questions to ask when evaluating the efficacy of educational programs. In addition to contributing her educational expertise, Kylee plays key roles in fundraising, developing partnerships, marketing, and overseeing projects. Her diverse skill set broadens the foundation’s reach and enhances the effectiveness of its programs.
